How to properly replace ink cartridges?

Is it hard and/or messy to replace the ink in ink cartridges?

  • Because of the ridiculous cost of ink cartridges, I have tried buying refurbished units at quite a savings but I frequently have quality issues. To those of you who replace your own ink - 1) is it hard to do? 2) is it messy? 3) is the printing quality good? 4) do you have any hints that I should follow in buying the ink kit and in doing or not doing this? Thanks

  • Answer:

refilling cartridges which are meant for single use is messy, often fails and can damage the printer. I buy special refillable cartridges at www.ccs-digital.com They are easy to refill using bottles with long nozzles (no syringes). I usually put on disposable gloves because my fingertips can get ink on them. It costs about 35 cents to refill a cartridge. The printing quality is as good as the original.
