Am i too late to major in architecture?

Can I major in Architecture, minor in Massage Therapy?

  • Given the high unemployment rate of architects right now (13.4%), I thought it wise to invest in a minor which I can fall back on, or hopefully do 'on the side' as I establish myself as an architect. Anyway, can I? Or..should I? I absolutley love massage therapy, esti etc. and would love to possibly create my own business! I have excellent grades in art and design classes in highschool, and I'm sure that this along with massage, is the sort of field I want to work with. But any ideas? Maybe just fully focus on massage, massage, massage and create my own business after a brief internship?? Any ideas appreciated!

  • Answer:

I like your first idea of minoring in Massage. I went to massage school in CA, but would not like to see you switch majors as body workers have a high incidence of ruining their hands from so much hard/excess use of their hands (kills your joints, after years of overuse). I do bodywork for fun/family/friends. My arthritis (I'm a very young 58) would completely prevent me from bodywork full time. I'm so glad I chose a different fulltime profession. Good luck and have fun with it!
