What is the best "behind the desk" job?

What is the best type of engineering if I want a desk job?

  • It might sound a bit strange; after all, while looking for answers to my question, I mostly found people who DIDN'T want a desk job. But to be quite honest, that's all I really want, lol. What can I say? I'm a huge nerd, I love my math, and I don't want to end up with a physically demanding career. In college, the highest degree I plan on getting is a Bachelor's. So, what type of engineering has the most desk-jobs available? And what are the engineering majors I should try to avoid if I don't want to be running around forty hours a week?

  • Answer:

Probably a computer engineer or software engineer. However, mechanical and electrical engineers may also work desk jobs in the office setting.
