Why can't I find a job?

Why cant I find a professional job after completion of my undergraduate?

  • I graduated r with a B.S in health administration but I cant find a job no matter what. All I do is apply for jobs, I have a nice resume, cover letter and even letters of recommendation. Im going nuts, what is the problem, is it the economy?? or the fact that its just too competitive in the job market?

    It's the economy, but not in the way the Media tells you. The truth of it is: If you live in these United States, odds are an immigrant or exchange student has already _been_ interviewed for the job you seek the minute you get your resume over there. I'm not even joking on this--the collegiate job fair system is _so_ rigged in favor of non-citizen job poachers it's not even funny, has been so since the 1980s. Really, the only way around this is the way you and I both missed because we didn't know about it back then--you have to be paranoid and at the job fairs and IN people's faces as a college freshman way the hell before you ever graduate so that Pradesh Derp and Ping XiaoPing don't beat you to the punch. And even then odds are the bastards will lie on their resumes and H1B visa forms and get the interview anyway. Seriously. The workforce really is that rigged.

It's not what you know, it's who you know. You need to network. Every position I held was thanks to someone in the company. It's hard to get an interview nowadays.

Have you tried going through a temp agency? They can help companies place people, they do all the background work for the employers. Remember, often times temp jobs turn into permanent ones!

I do not know if it would help if you introduced yourself to people that work at facilities you would also like to work in, but it also sounds like saturation in this particular field...
