Why did communism fail in the Soviet Union?

Why was communism successful in the soviet union but fail in china?

  • Answer:

Communism was not successful in Russia. That's why the Soviet Union fell apart. Communism ruins economies. China is successful, because it abandoned Communist economic principles which rely upon a centrally-planned economy, and slowly adopted a market-based, capitalist economy.

The Soviet Union did not have success with communism. Theyre economy was known for not having enough supply to fill the demand. That is because people had no incentive to work, therefore had low productivity. This means that less products will be manufactured, and less things will be sold. They eventually collapsed in 1995, proving its ineffectiveness. China was successful. They are not really communist though. They are a much less extreme form of socialism. They do have problems however, but it doesnt have anything to do with their economic system (the civil rights/workers rights/ overpopulation dont apply to communism).
