How to build my own DIY PC?

How to build a gaming PC and what is the best cheaped build?

  • I don't really know much about PCs but I want to get into them so I might decide to learn a bit on PCs and build one soon. Im thinking of going with AMD since its a bit cheaper but I really dont know where to start. I want to be able to play Crysis games, battlefield 3 etc on high settings. Where can i learn to build a PC? I heard from many new people to PC gaming that building a PC is not as easy as the PC gamers make it out to be since you can risk getting BSOD or not be able to boot. Is this true? Also, what's the best PC build (AMD) that i can use to play games on high settings and it's not too expensive? thanks in advance

Q: Where can i learn to build a PC? A: There are quite a few videos, tutorials, etc over the internet where you can learn. Here are a few good ones: Newegg: How to build a PC - Pt. 1 (Pick Parts) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw Newegg: How to build a PC - Pt. 2 (The actual build) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_56kyib-Ls Newegg: How to build a PC - Pt. 3 (Software installation) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxaVBsXEiok Tom's Hardware: How to build a PC http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/build-your-own-pc,2601.html Q: I heard from many new people to PC gaming that building a PC is not as easy as the PC gamers make it out to be since you can risk getting BSOD or not be able to boot. Is this true? A: Quite frankly, no. It's not true. Q: Also, what's the best PC build (AMD) that i can use to play games on high settings and it's not too expensive? thanks in advance A: Well, what's your budget? If you're willing to spend $800+, you're better off with Intel. A lot of people say AMD is budget oriented - although that's true to an extent, when you get into the bigger budgets, AMD gets just as expensive as Intel and has less performance.
