Why do my legs hurt while running?

Is it normal for your legs to hurt when you begin running?

  • I've just recently started running. I get up at 5:30 and run for 10-15 minutes. I'm hoping to run longer times, and improve by running more often. Its the third day i've been running in the mornings now, and ive noticed that my shins hurt .. and legs.. and i was wondering if this was normal for people who just started running?

  • Answer:

Yes of course. Your legs aren't used to the strenuous activity you put them through so they're gonna be sore for a few days after you started running. Once you start to run on a regular basis you won't be sore anymore.

Yes. Completely normal. Be sure to stretch and drink water. And its called shin splints. Taking ice baths will take care of it.
