How to prepare and cook chicken teriyaki?

I have a pound of fresh chicken breast and a bottle of kikkoman teriyaki sauce that a friend gave me. I love chicken teriyaki, but I have never made it before. I know how to cook vegetables and rice so I don't need instructions on that. But how do you cook chicken teriyaki?

Step 1:You Will Need: 230 g chicken breast 1/4 medium bunch of broccoli 1/4 large carrot 90 ml mirin 60 ml soy sauce 60 ml sake white pepper salt 85 g flour 1 skillet 1 sauce pan Step 2: Prepare The Vegetables First we start by cutting the broccoli and the carrots. Presentation of Japanese food depends a lot on cutting techniques, so take care when you cut them. Experts like Chef Matsuda may alternate knife angles or roll the vegetable as he cuts. Step 3: Season The Chicken Sprinkle a little white pepper and salt on both sides of the chicken breast. Now coat the chicken with a bit of flour. When fully cooked, pour in about 2 oz of sake into the skillet to flash or flambé the chicken. Step 8: Reduce The Sauce Now add in the teriyaki sauce and cook to reduce the sauce until it is thick and hearty. Step 9: Prepare To Serve Delicately cut the chicken breast. Place the broccoli and carrots on the plate, followed by the cut chicken breast. Now douse the teriyaki sauce over the chicken. Time to eat. Enjoy. You can marinade it in just teriyaki sauce and you can just use plan white sugar if you wanted to. you can add some onion or pepper and even garlic if you want to or add some ground black pepper or crushed red pepper to make it sweet and spicy with the sugar. I usually pour about a half cup to a cup of the teriyaki but its all your preference on how much of the flavor you want it to have. You could cook it in a wock until it is not pink in the middle or cook it in a pan with the marinade until cooked or grill it on a grill on medium to low heat until it is not pink in the middle. Or make chicken teriyaki shishcabobs in oven or grill until fully cooked. Marinade for about an hour.

Cut the chicken in strips and brown it in a skillet in butter or olive oil on medium heat. Mix the Kikkoman with 2 teaspoons corn starch (or flour) and any kind of soda pop. Ginger ale is best, but root beer, Coke, -- even orange soda -- will do. If you don't have a soda, use apple juice. (The soda or juice replaces the brown sugar and sake.) Pour the soda-teriyaki sauce mixture over the chicken and stir, scraping any bits of chicken from the bottom of the pan. Simmer -- do not boil -- until the sauce thickens and the chicken is done.
