Artistic or unique PC games?

Any good old pc games?

  • I want to play pc games but I want old games that will work on my laptop. I use a windows vista home basic. I never play pc games so I can't control shooters or anything like that. I'd rather point and click style games or something like dungeon keeper which was one of the only games I played on pc but also one of the best games I've ever played. I'm willing to try shooters or first person games but I can't turn the camera properly. I also love the heroes of might and magic games.

You really should just buy a cheap Usb mouse for like $5-10, it'll work with your Laptop. If you want old games i.e pre-2000, I highly recommend the website good old games, GOG.com. Even if you don't want to buy them, it'll give you a good list of old pc games that are categorized and have reviews, the games are very cheap and are made to work on modern operating systems. Sim city 4 or that series comes to mind, Theme Hospital, Rollercoaster tycoon series are heaps of fun, they are all point and click/building type games, easy to control. If you are into strategy get Rome: Total War or Medieval1/2: Total War, they are the best strategy games by a long way and focus more on tactics/strategy and long term campaigns with deep historical detail than the twitchyness and reflexes required in games like starcraft 2. If you get a mouse, I can't recommend Portal enough, it's a one of a kind game and one of the most funny, clever and original game experiences you will ever have. It's a true gem. If you want a shooter, get Half-Life 2, it's still the best game ever, it won 39 GOTY awards for a very good reason, but you'll want a mouse. Bioshock is getting kinda old now, that's an absolute work of art that game, but it is a shooter.

If you're willing to try first-person shooters, then I highly recommend Battlezone (1998 version). I think there's a website dedicated to the game where you can download the entire thing for free (legally) as well as it's expansion pack Red Odyssey. That game will work on just about anything. I've got it running maxed out on my netbook for crying out loud. But it's crazy fun. Otherwise, try a regular RTS, like StarCraft or an old Command & Conquer game. All you do is point and click.
