Hello A.A., Just to clear up a couple of misunderstandings, Romeo and Juliet is a play not a book - was designed to be performed rather than read. And Shakespeare wrote in early modern English - old english dates back to the 5th century and, some of it, would be unrecognisable to most of us. However, to answer your questions: I believe Juliet is just shy of her 14th birthday (a fortnight away or something like that). As for her thoughts on marriage, they change. If you're talking about the beginning of the play, she says its, "an honour I dream not of." In other words, she don't much fancy the idea. However, once she meets Romeo, she warms up to it quite quickly! Lammastide is the festival celebrating the wheat harvest and is, usually, celebrated on the 1st of August.
