How to hide application icon programmatically?

APPLICATION ICON. Driving me nuts. Help?

  • My samsung galaxy SII came with no application icon in the home page ( main screen) instead it says ' menu' icon. I found the application icon inside settings though and was wondering if there was any way i could put the application icons in the main screen. I'm talking about the main screen how there's four icons at the bottom : Phone, contacts, messaging and application ( as ive seen on many) but mine it says MENU. is there anything i can do to change that? nearly all pic/ videoa ive seen of the phone has applications but NOT mine :(

  • Answer:

Does touching the "Menu" icon in the bottom four icons take you to the Apps screen and then become "Home" to take you back to the Home screen? If so then I agree with the other answer. I don't think you can change the spelling of the actual shortcut so that it says "Applications" instead. You can change three of the four bottom icons to different shortcuts, but I think you're stuck with the actual "Home" icon which changes to "Applications" when touched.....at least it does on my phone.

I've got the same phone as you and mines says "Menu" plus I don't think you can change them. I don't see the reason. If it does the same thing then their no point. :)
