Conservatives, so how exactly was the space program going to improve the economy?

NASA had such little funding before the cut compared to other programs that it is comparable to taking candy from the smart, skinny kid and giving it to the stupid, fat kid and thinking that it'll satisfy him for a while.

if you can't even see the economic benefits the space race of 50 years ago brought to the world, you have no hope of ever imagining what transformative technologies further space exploration will bring. by the way, i'm a liberal. obama was wrong to cancel the constellation project... but private enterprise is not the answer, either. every time we've lost astronauts' lives, it's been because of bad decisions made by managers thinking like free-market capitalists.

The space program relied on many MANY subcontractors to supply pieces, parts support, do construction, manufacture sections needing to fit together, etc, etc, etc...........Meaning JOBS.........You know lefie, that thing that the liberal press keeps LYING about being created under Obama's reign. EVERY report thus far has been a positive number, meanwhile in secret, they "revise" the number downward. It wouldn't significantly reduce the deficit. yet if you cut government waste 1% across the board, you would have 10 times the money you could get from the rich. You're right, the space program wasn't really going to help, its just the weird part of the right that want to find anything against the left. You know, just like when Bush announced the cuts to the space program during his presidency, and the Liberals were the ones pissed about the proposed cuts. Their will always be a section of people that will find any jab they can at the opposite party without any real thought, deal with it.
