What steps does it take to be a police officer?

What further steps can i take on my path of trying to become a police officer?

  • I want to join an LAPD cadet program but I'm 18 and not eligible since the program is only offered to 17 yr olds and younger. I do not have my diploma or G.E.D yet, I am home schooled and won't be receiving it until December or June of 2013, point is i want to know if i can apply elsewhere to get training or experience? I am determined of wanting to become a police officer and do not know where to start .. I would really appreciate it if anyone can assist me with further information , Thankyou

    They might have a police explorers program, you can go to the academy as long as your 21 by the time of graduation..What I did was buy the book of that department or the police peace officer book of your state and study the hell out of it, practice your shooting and get in shape! There is no such thing as be over prepared or trained with a job like a police officer

This is the best route to become a police officer in any department. 1. Get your high school diploma 2. Become an Infantryman or Military Police in the military 3. Go to college and get your BA Degree in Buisness 4. Go up there and apply and I can gurantee that you will get the job.
