Messenger Bag & Regular Carry On?

Does anybody know exactly what happens in the shoulder joint when you carry a heavy messenger bag?

  • I remember about a year ago, I used a messenger bag to carry my stuff to school and it was pretty heavy. Now I have some pretty bad shoulder mobility on my right side especially, and every time I pull my elbows back to do a rowing movement, it feels like a tendon rubs over my shoulder bone really powerfully. I'm now trying to undo the pain and poor mobility with corrective exercises, so I was wondering if anyone knew the anatomical explanations for what happens to the shoulder joint when asymmetrical stress is put on it, like a messenger bag? Or where I could find more info on it? I've tried googling it, but it's hard. I kinda want to get a better understanding of how the mechanics get screwed up so that I have a better idea of what steps to take to correct it

  • Answer:

D.O. (doctor of osteopathy) is in 31 states in USA are trained with the medical skills of a standard M.D. plus the manipulations of osteopathy, so they go to medical school even longer! an osteopathic doctor can help. go to one. your nerves go through your spine, so damage to the spine effects your nerves in other parts of the body, whether a true phantom pain, or referenced pain, i.e. pain that appears somewhere else for where the injury is. so i would see a D.O., they can manage whatever type of problem you seem to have. if needed they also give exercises to strengthen muscles that are wasted / weakened.
