Answer:
Your state laws will dictate the MUSTS. Some states are restrictive and anal-retentive; others, not so much. So look up your state laws and you'll know what MUST be covered. You can take anything if you homeschool. Pottery, horseback riding, Latin...whatever you want. That assumes that you're not locked into public-school-at-home model, which entraps a lot of people with perceived "perks" like (gasp!) a FREE LAPTOP!!! Yeah, that you have to return to the company and which is an old clunker you didn't get to pick yourself and which you don't have administrative access to. In exchange all you have to do is give up your freedom. You give up your choices in what you learn and how and when and in what order and for what amount of time. Some deal. Some state require P.E., some don't. If you want P.E. you can do anything from entering marathons (if that's your thing) to kayaking to taking homeschool-oriented courses at sports centers to joining sports teams. (We've got a few university coaches whose kids homechool, so the local coaches offer clinics in their sport.) P.E. isn't required in our state, but my kids have still taken formal courses in soccer, bowling, tennis and gymnastics. (They're elementary-aged.) Electives: Again, whatever you want. Our community colleges not only allow teenagers to enroll in whatever strikes their fancy, but they also run classes for younger homeschoolers. I've seen everything from theater performance to robotics to cooking to art & photography.

You take regular classes like language arts, math, science, art, and others like etiquette and manners, creative writing, robotics, creation science, etc. You can take languages. You can use curriculum like Rosetta Stone and Power Glide. These will have all the info you need, even if your parents don't know the languages at all. For P.E., you can do different sports and physical activities, such as join a community softball team (or play with your siblings, if you have enough), basketball, tennis, biking, hiking, running, dancing, bowling, etc. You can do any electives that interest you. Curriculum suppliers will have options available. Elementary kids who homeschool need more parental involvement than high schoolers. Parents teach, lead, and guide the children. Parent read to, and do activities with the children. Parents can use curriculum to help teach the children to read, write, and do math.

It DEPENDS on the school! It's all free! I got a free laptop, free books, and free supplies. For Elementary you take all the same classes except for in 5th grade you don't take sex ed. For example, I got to BOSS it has 3 choices of learning Lincoln Interactive (which is where you work at your own pace), calvert (where you have virtual classes and you do a little bit of lincoln interactive), or all virtual classes! I do virtual classes... and I love 'em! You really get to interact! You get to answer, comment, talk with other students, express your self, learn about your teachers, and all sorts of things :) My brother took French at BOSS...! At BOSS, it depends on your grade but, you get a P.E. log online where you record what you did, the hour(s) and etc. :) For elementary kids at BOSS, starting from 2nd grade to 12th you can have virtual classes and everything I explained above. You don't take languages till you're a little bit higher! ;) BUT, I'll have to warn you, BOSS is only for Ohio and some parts of West Virginia.
