Why do so many people watch boxing?

I love watching boxing. I just realized for some reason it is one of the few pay per view sports and people pay so much money just to watch one match. Moreover, the amount of money devoted towards the boxers, etc., is constantly high. What about boxing is so appealing? I notice humans in general of all races and genders love fighting (that is why we never stop them and just stand by and watch.)

I think its on pay per view because there are only a few big fights a year. So to get revenue they charge to watch it. Whereas other sports are watched by lots of people on a daily or weekly basis. So they don't have to charge per game, otherwise they would actually lose money.
