What's the most you got back in income tax?

VISA: My father got retired and has income tax cleared.?

  • Well, I am applying for a study permit from Bangladesh to study in Canada. My father is going to be my sponsor. He is a retired government employee and retired in 2007. He has his income tax cleared up to 2007-2008 session. Now the VISA office wants to see the sponsorship documents. I am planning to provide the following things- 1. His bank statement 2. His retirement documents 3. His pension documents 4. Certificate mentioning that his income tax is cleared up to 2007-2008. 5. Sponsorship declaration. Is that all? I mean, is it OK, if I show this income tax certificate? I mean, as he has no income, so he is not paying the income tax. Is this OK? Actually, I don't understand these kinds of issues. I am the youngest daughter of my family. So please help me to understand this. Thanks in advance.

  • Answer:

He has to have some kind of income coming in.How else could he survive otherwise ? He still has to have food, and roof over his head.It doesn't sound like this would work out very well for you. What he made in the past has nothing to do with the here and now. If he made say $ 20,000 -2007-2008, what good is this in 2012 ? When you indicate he does not have any income coming in, why would 2007-2008 matter at all, those funds are long gone? What you listed would be valid if he were working in 2012 .But what he did in 2007-2008 is like 4-5 years ago cannot count in 2012

Only show them what is required,is the list you provided on your question what they required for the study permit? Ask the visa office specifically what documents they require, give them nothing more. I would think they have a list of requirements. That is what I would recommend. Good luck to you and your studies, you van never have enough education.
