Why can't I change my desktop background with Windows 7?

Why cant i change my desktop background?

I have windows 7 home premium and i had a virus before and i got it cleaned out by a computer place and it works perfectly now but i cant change my background mysteriously so when i click on set desktop background when i chose tile, stretch, or center and when i click it, nothing happens my background doesnt change or anything and im getting pissed off because i cant change it

TRY USING INTERNET EXPLORER AND GO ON GOOGLE THEN TYPE WHAT EVER YOU WANT THEN BACKGROUND AFTER IT AND FOR EXAMPLE: RACE CAR BACKGROUND THEN OPEN AN IMAGE THAT WONT BLUR WHEN YOU SET IT AND RIGHT CLICK THEN IT SHOULD SAY SET AS BACKGROUND HOPE THIS WORKS
