How to change brightness on Linux desktop through the command line?

Using the cmdprompt runas line to change desktop settings?

  • when I try to use runas /user:<computer>\<user> "<program>" to change the desktop settings of a user profile that doesn't otherwise have access to those settings, I get only the settings of the administrator used in the above line. How could I fix it so that it changed the settings of the profile I used to run command prompt from?

  • Answer:

Try using the /env switch to use the current environment instead of <user>
