How do I reconnect to my wireless printer?

How do I reconnect my computer to my printer?

  • So I went away to college and I had to buy a cord to connect my computer and printer because my wireless printer would not work on the schools network. Well now i'm back home and my printer says it is connected to my wireless at home but my computer won't recognize that it is online...how do I reconnect them? And I think I lost the discs to the printer so uninstalling and then installing probably won't work. Help! Oh and I have an Epson Stylus NX515 and a Dell Inspiron laptop

  • Answer:

Make sure you have the latest drivers downloaded for your printer and make sure your operating system is up to date. Generally you can find drivers from the website of whoever makes the product, and operating systems updates usually happen automatically but if you don't have it set to update automatically you may have to visit your operating system's website as well.

It probably got switched to work offline from the print driver while you were away. Right click on the printer in the printers folder and open the printer queue. Go to printer in the top left panel and make sure work offline is not checked. If that still won't show it as ready, you made need to open the command prompt and type net stop spooler and net start spooler to stop and restart the print spooler for your computer.
