How can I email to a fax machine?

EMail pdf file to FAX machine?

  • Some of the agencies I work with are very behind technologically. They request long documents from us but won't accept them via email - they only want them FAXed the old fashioned way. This is a huge waste of paper, since I might print a 12 page report, feed it through our FAX machine, and then shred the report. I can't use the free online services, because our reports are confidential. I just want to create a pdf file and send it as an email attachment, but to a FAX phone number instead of an email address. I'm sure there are utilities available to do what I want to do - any suggestions? Thanks!

I know of no utility that can do this. But there are various companies that can send FAXs for you. However the confidentiality may be a problem.

Fax machines do not read .pdf files. What you are asking is impossible. However, you can either use an all-in-one printer that has fax capabilities to fax the document rather than print it in your office, or use a modem built into a computer to do the same thing.
