How do I record stuff on TV to my computer?

Is there a way to make the video and audio be on both the tv and on the computer (dazzle)?

• I want to record with my Pinnacle Instand DVD Recorder Dazzle Thingy Majig. I can make it work on the computer, but not BOTH the computer and the TV, which is very annoying considering the screen is so disgustingly small. I tried to put one of those double ended composite cables (don't know the name, but they have those red/yellow/white on both ends) between Dazzle and the TV, while having the console in at the same time, but it doesn't show anything at all on the Dazzle. I only have one input on the tv, so I need to use one of those... things that lets me put more cables in and stuff like that. As you can probably tell, my TV is old as ****, and my English isn't the best.

  Get splitter cables. That is all you need. Also, get a HD PVR :) even better
