Where To Buy Morphsuits In Toronto?

What type of car to buy in Toronto?

  • What type of car to buy in Toronto? I am planning to move to Toronto in a few months time. Once there, plan to buy a 4WD. Which 4WD car (model or brand) is ideal for Toronto streets or roads. Keeping in mind, cost, fuel efficiency, depreciation, repair and maintenance, insurance, etc.)

  • Answer:

If you want to take your vehicle off-road, plan on driving on remote roads, or if you happen to have a penchant for rally driving, as I have done, the four-wheel drive has some benefits for you but it will cost more to feed it and to maintain it.. If none of those apply to you, but you have been sold on the notion that you really need a 4-wheel drive, then if you are an average driver it is much more likely that you need to learn how to drive properly in winter. 4WD is HUGELY over-rated and the hyperbole in advertising is mostly lies.. For an average driver, meaning one who drives in the city or on highways, they offer no significant advantage except when starting, and then the advantage only exists on slippery surfaces or heavy snow or mud.. Once your vehicle is in motion on paved surfaces, 4WD seldom contributes anything at all to a normal driver, except a higher operating cost. That said, whatever you buy, use good quality snow tires in winter, and use them on all four wheels. Winter tires are significantly better for winter driving than all-season tires that actually are a compromise in all seasons, and excel in none. Snow/winter tires WILL make a difference, as you will gain superior road-holding, improved braking, and more controllability. There will be an initial expense (having two sets of tires) and it is best to have each set mounted on its own rims/wheels as the switching each season can lead to damage on the bead on the tires, and make it leak air or break. Best option.... Look for a vehicle that suits you, your family needs, and your budget, as well as your personal driving style. If you still have concerns about winter driving, and REALLY want to be a better driver on snow, or anywhere else, take a skid control course. There is nothing, nothing at all, that will provide you with a better value in driving for the immediate future during winter or other seasons than a skid control course, and the skills you gain impart value that continues for all of your driving life. The nearest skid control course is available in Oakville, Ontario, just a few minutes west of Toronto. . Final point: regardless of vehicle choice, buy it. IF you own a company and can write off the lease costs, then leasing has advantages. If you have plans to leave the Province in a short time, leasing is good, as you will be free when your contract ends and your plans can continue, but for everyone else, leasing is a more costly option than buying.

Toronto is mostly flat, and they have snowplows. A 4WD car is silly. The traffic is awful and the parking is worse, so get the smallest car you'll be comfortable spending a lot of time in.

Didn't you ask this before? I won't answer this a second time however, insurance is based on your driving record and they type of car you have.Oh and insurance in the GTA is higher than most areas in Canada. I have no idea how they will evaluate your driving record if you are from another country. If you are worried about depreciation, repair and maintance you should lease a car for 2 or 4 years thereby avoiding most of those issues. What is your budget? Will you buy new or used? If you buy new will you need financing? if you do this might be difficult if you don't have a Canadian credit history, you maybe required to prove money in the bank and income.

If I lived in Toronto, I wouldn't even bother to buy a car. You can get just about anywhere you want via public transit. If you needed a vehicle to commute, that would be different. Considering how mild the winters are becoming, there is no advantage of a 4WD vehicle in the city.

Traffic in Toronto is so bad a Smart car would be a good idea, but if you insist on a 4WD get a "cute-ute"- a CRV or RAV4 or something in that category- 4 cylinder for fuel economy.
