What can I do if my face is always getting flushed?

Why does my face get flushed and red sometimes?

  • So, I haven't really noticed it until a few months ago. When I have to speak in front of the class, my face gets warm and I can tell that it's red. Or if it's a temperature change walking into different rooms, then my face does that. I have a heavy backpack because I carry some of my textbooks with me so I don't have to run to my locker all the time. So when I have to get up and carry my backpack, my face gets flushed. It also happens when I'm rushing to get some homework done in time, when I'm nervous, when it's warm out, and even just at random times. I take concerta for my adhd, and I had to take more of it than my body needed and that made my face flush a lot more. I take a lower dose now, and the flushing didn't happen that much, but it still happens. I'm a little pale I suppose. But I know that I don't have rosacea, because the redness goes away and I'm normal skin toned again. I'm thinking it might be hormones? I haven't even had my woman stuff at all yet. I heard that niacin can also cause flushing, but I don't know if I consume that at all. I looked it up and I don't think that it's in concerta. But it's so embarrassing when it happens. I haven't noticed before, but I know that I'm self-conscious about getting flushed, so I think that might be part of the problem. I always worry if my face gets red and then it does sometimes. I don't want to try cover-up because it doesn't work the best and I don't want to coat that stuff on my face everyday. The flushing doesn't happen on weekends, which is also when I don't take the medication. I don't want to try therapy or putting ice cubes on my face. I want to know if there is a food or medication that could prevent my face to get flushed so much, anything that could prevent what triggers the reaction that causes flushing. Does anyone know what this problem could be? I wasn't like this before, and then I started to notice it. I'm sick of being made fun of about it, too. Also, if I tanned more would it be less noticeable? I think it could just be the fear of flushing (or blushing, whatever you want to call it), but I'm not exactly sure. If there's anyone with this same problem or knows about it, please help. It will be greatly appreciated. Serious answers only please.

  • Answer:

According to me you should really try the niacin flush. I have heard many good reviews about it and it might be useful for you also.
