How an i improve my bench max and gain bigger chest?

  • i bench 170 max. how can i improve that, what can i do to bench more? is there a certain way i gota bench or what. if so, what would be the best sets and reps per set. and also what can i do to get bigger chest? what workouts do i do? thnx:)

    Sets of 5 in 5lb increments, 135x5, 140x5, 145x5 etc. then do set of 3, then 1 at end. Once a week, always striving to increase weight. Eat lots of protein. Increase your body weight, so you can "mold" into muscle. Eat, eat, eat. Egg whites, carbs, steak, chicken. Lots of it. Do dead lifts, and legs, your body needs balance to grow. If you don't lift legs, your chest won't grow. Do same type of low rep high weight sets w squats and dead lifts. Always try to lift 5-10 lbs more each week.

To improve on strength you want to do heavier loads of weight with less reps, and I would recommend increasing this weight every week by 5-10 pounds. So like doing 3 sets of 5 reps of 150 every other day. then next week increasing to 155. Doing incline bench is a great way to get a bigger chest as well. Don't forget to squat and deadlift! Don't go all glamour muscles! And I would also recommend having a work out buddy or spotter, that way you can push the amount of weight you do even more.
