How long can you store beer?

How long can I store wine and beer?

  • I'm geting married in 3 1/2 months and we can provide our own wine/beer. We want to start buying it ahead of time so its not such a huge price shock. How long can we store it in regular room temperature at our apartment?

  • Answer:

Wine should be fine. As far as the beer, it really depends on the beer. Some beers age well (many microbrews) and some don't, like your standard bud light or miller light. 31/2 months isn't really that long though, so as long as yo buy it warm to begin with, it would probably be ok.

Wine can be stored in a cool, dry place for many years depending on the variety. Ideally around 55 degrees or so. Invest in a small wine cooler to start, or a wine cellar in your garage if you can splurge. Big cabs and larger style wines like Syrahs, Bourdeaux blends, etc. will last longer. You wouldn't want to store a Sauvignon Blanc for ten years.

A looooooong time. Plus the older the wine the better it gets. Just as long as you don't open them.

Depends on the quality + where you store it. Exposure to the sun will damage it.
