Did Russia Join the United Nations?

When did Mao's China join the United Nations?

  • In what year did Mao chose to join the United Nations, and if you can answer can anyone provide a source to go with it?

  • Answer:

The UN embraces Communist China - history's most murderous criminal regime. In 1949, anti-Communist Nationalist China, one of the UN's founding members, was forced from the mainland to Taiwan by the Communists. In 1971, the UN expelled Taiwan and embraced the brutal Red Chinese government - a government responsible for over 35 million murders. When the vote admitting Red China was announced, UN delegates danced in the aisles to show their contempt for America and their joy at the triumph of Red China.

The Republic of China was one of the founding members of the UN and it was given Permanent membership in the Security Council. Internal problems led to the communist party taking over control of mainland China but as this was not recognised by the Western powers, China's place in the UN continued to be held by Republic of China that had control over only Taiwan. After great diplomatic efforts the People's Republic of China was given its rightful place in the UN in 1971.

Our veto in the Security Council was all that ever prevented it. The Korean war was only possible because the USSR was boycotting the UN at the time, in protest over Taiwan holding China's seat. Boy was that a blunder for them!! Nixon Met Mao and threw US support behind China in 1971, in order to upset the Russians and get their influence behind his plan to end the War in Vietnam.
