Tourism in Mexico is still very high?

  • Even with all the "drug wars" Mexico is still in the top 10 most visited countries of the world. Why do people prefer going to Mexico instead of Brazil, Argentina, Peru, etc?

    I like how drug wars have been the cover up for Mexican attacks on foreign tourists. "5 people were killed on vacation in Mexico this week." "Guess its the drugs wars." bullshit. Mexico should be boycotted. They'll think twice about how they treat their main source of economy when none of it exists anymore.

Because Mexico is considerably closer to the people who can afford to take trips to foreign countries (Canadians, Americans, people from the UK, and the rest of Europe). Plus, unless you do something really stupid (which would go for any country around the world) like go into a dark alley alone in a deserted part of a big city, you don't see "drug runners" everywhere in Mexico. Plus, it's cheaper than a lot of the other countries you mentioned.

It's much much closer to home and the U.S government can better guarantee their safety unlike countries in Brazil and Argentina.Which we don't even have good relations with.
