Why would my question with 7 answers get deleted?
-
I was just asking about a law/regulation. There were seven responses, but it was deleted by Answers (I didn't do it.).

Answer:
YA has community moderation posts are reported by other members which can result in deletion. The number of abuse reports before deletion depends on the "trust level" of the reporters. Usually all it takes is 2 "trusted" members although sometimes more and in rare occasions only one to report a post and the bots remove it. As to why your post (s) was (were) reported without complete context that's impossible to say. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/moderation/moderation-01.html Also Questions without answers are removed by Yahoo after 4 days 8 if you extended it or no best answer" won the vote. You don't lose any points.if it is voted NBA.. the asker will get points returned it never gets answers at all.. it just gets removed as expired and no point changes Sometimes a post may seem very innocuous but can still be a violation. This may help you in the future. Here are four very common violations . Solicitation: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/abuse/guidelines-11.html Chat: Questions must not be solely personal but must be of interest to the community, advice-seeking and /or knowledge-worthy. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/abuse/guidelines-14.html Question and Answer format http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/abuse/guidelines-04.html Cheating. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/abuse/guidelines-12.html Chttp://au.answers.yahoo.com/info/community_guidelines;_ylt=Au2d7mIXhkrNMVl492GnIMTT5gt.;_ylv=3heating From Yahoo. Our points system is meant to reward the community members for sharing questions and answers, so creating multiple accounts or posting content for the sole purpose of gaining points or soliciting others for points is not permitted. Posting filler answers to a question in an effort to be first to answer, or copying and pasting other members' answers, are also forms of cheating. Here are the community guidelines. it makes sense to read them http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_guidelines There are however trolls out there who report most anything. If you feel you have been wronged you should appeal. To appeal: Go below. Just follow the prompts. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/first_appeal.html;_ylt=AqSixcLqgNB6qjbOqvw87AVs5SN4?from_url=http%3A%2F%2Fuk.answers.yahoo.com%2Fquestion%2Findex%3Fqid%3D20090927213232AAg7HxB

It's impossible to answer without precise details. What *exactly* did you ask? Some reasons questions get deleted are "chat" (and that includes using Additional Details to dispute/discuss the question with answerers); and "rant" (strongly framing the question in terms of expounding your own view). Had it reached closed stage (with a Best Answer picked)? In which case it could be the BA that was at fault, rather than the question. But let's see the question. "I was just asking about ..." often covers a multitude of things. (And I strongly advise you to ignore answers that ''poison the well' by suggesting some sinister motive to requesting further information -- the bottom line is that without that information we can't remotely know why something was deleted. With information, we may be able to advise. It's up to you).

The Yahoo statement is that one or more trusted reporters must report a question or answer for it to be deleted. You can appeal and if the appeal is upheld the reporter loses some credibility. It takes a number of violations to get someone suspended, the exact number would vary dependant on the severity of the violations.

Look in your email inbox for a violation notice. There will be hyperlink toward the bottom that will take you to an online appeal form. There's a very high probability that your question was FALSELY REPORTED by two or more reporter trolls who just want to annoy you . Now they want to provide the details of your question so you will give them another answer to feed their egos and feelings of superiority. DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS by responding to the trolls on YA. Appeal the violation. If you win the appeal, the answers and your question will be restored from the place that it was deleted from and you will get 10 points back, and maybe a nice email from Customer Care apologizing for the inconvenience. If any of the answers have also been reported and deleted, they may not be restored. The appeal form goes to real live human beings in Customer Care who will read and review the appeal. If the hyperlink in the email does not work; you can use this long online appeal form. http://help.yahoo.com/l/sg/yahoo/answers/first_appeal.html DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS by responding to them. http://amasci.com/weird/flamer.html http://help.yahoo.com/l/sg/yahoo/answers/first_appeal.html http://samvak.tripod.com/journal60.html You probably can look at the seven answers, because you should have received an email each time your question was answered. Your question and the answers are still the Yahoo digital data base. All that's happened is that the question and answers have been deleted from the display.

Since its deleted and you didnt post it ..exactly as you asked it. No one can say. Read the guidelines on the about tab, and see if you broke a rule. You cant just say what the question was about..that doesnt give enough info for us to examine. People answer violation questions all the time...so having answers has no bearing.
