16 year old girl needs advice...?
-
Ok, so this is kind of a long story and...I know it's sad to result to YAHOO ANSWERS for this but its the first thing I could think of. I just am..so mad..crying mad...and I want advice please. I am an active horseback rider and I absolutely love the sport. If I could, I would just stay with horses all day, they are my real, true friends. They forgive you if you screw up... Anyway, I used to live right by my trainer, we just moved about a year ago to a house about 1 1/2 hours away. So every weekend or so, my mom drives me down and I spend the weekend there with horses and my best friend Brittany and my trainer. We actively participate in 4H shows and open shows. I really, truely feel happy when I am there. I feel absolutely miserable at this new place, but I try to put on a happy face for my folks because I know they couldnt help the move. Now, I just had a fight with my mother. I wouldnt say a fight persay because I sat quietly while she yelled in my face and threw a teddy bear at me in anger. She is costantly trying to tell me I "do to much". I decided next year that I am going to join Drama and become a critic at the school. This change, requires ZERO time for my mother. All she has to do is pick me up from school LATER than usual (shes a stay at home mom). SHe is on my back about how I dont get enough sleep (6 hours! on average I dont see why that isnt enough) and she just ballistacly yelled at me because she says the people at my riding placee are a "bad influence". I dont consider myself a spoiled child. I know the commute is alot but ZI even told my mother, when I get my license (about 7 mo.) I can drive myself. But she told me no she wouldnt let me drive all the way out there even with a license. So I dont see what she wants. She paints me as this cruel, mean child and I dont see what I'm doing wrong. I am quiet at school, I try my best, I get fairly good grades (4.0 both semesters last year, 3.5 this last semesteer). SHe dropped this whole load on me, a new school, no friends., no place to go ride and follow my passion. I was promised a horse of my own but that didnt happen, and it isnt going to...I guess it wasd just a perk so I wouldnt complain at that moment...or cry. I absolutely hate my new life here and I only seem to find happiness when Im back at my old place. This past 3 weeks ive gone evry weekend because we've had 3 horse shows. This weekends the last one. This 3 weekends in a row has NEVER happened before they are usually a month apart, it just sort of happened and I told her it was coming weeks in advance. Yesterday, I went to a play and she went ballistic that I came home at 9:30 (again something that i havent done in months and i went to support my friends) she doesnt sxupport me, shes seen maybe 2 of my many horse shows. SHe pays, a lot, of course and drives and i realize its a big commute. But its all I ask and even though its a lot. I can't find happiness anywhere else. She is a true, hard as nails catholic so she would never say anything bad about anyone (behind their back she has no problem saying the meanest things to their face) but I can tell she hates everyone back at my "old home". To me, its my only home. I dont want this misery and fighting anymore. I hate my school,. i have only 3 or 4 friends here, no place to ride thats not ridiculously expensive, and i hate this house, town and everything about my life here. What do I do? Do I just go with the misery and try to put up with it? Do I go see a couseler at school? DO I just let my passion go for the sake of my family? DO I just sit quietly, knowing my mom will still take me but leave a growing dislike for one another until the point where my mom and I wont even talk to each other? I need advice...if anyoen can help...please do.

Answer:
When I began my freshman year of high school I had to move away from my family and friends because my dad got a new job. At first fitting in was extremely hard and I had no friends. However, over the next few years I developed life long friends. It can be hard to adjust to the new environment, but as life throws curve balls we have to get over them. The new school and no friends just takes a little time to overcome. Your mother seems as though she can be a little controlling. My friend's mother is the exact same way. She had to go to a counselor and set boundaries with her mother. Ultimately, your mother should support your intrests, especially if that is where you find true happiness. I would try the counselor idea because they will probably have great advice.

Get over yourself, spoiled brat. Waawaawaaaaaaaah, you want a horse? Fine. PAY FOR IT. Horses are freaking expensive. You want your mum to run all over town chasing after you because YOU want to do all this extra stuff? Spoiled brat. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah, you moved an hour and a half away. Waaaaaaaaah.

Your mother will love you what ever you decide. It's your life although you may be a miner but you have to build up to the life you will live when your older.
