Food ideas for a chocolate themed party?
-
Hi! So my friends and I do this thing where each of us throws a food-themed party every month. It gives us a chance to bake and discover new recipes from eachother. (Like last month was pies, the month before that was cakes, etc.) So I chose to do a chocolate themed party. Only problem is I have no idea what to make. Any ideas? I know there's so many chocolate-themed recipes, but I'm not sure what to make. Any suggestions are helpful, thank you!!!

i love chocolate chip cookies as much as the next girl (sometimes so much so that the batter never becomes cookies) but for the less obvious choice think about the mexican pairing of chocolate and chili. something like: Ancho Chile Truffles http://www.bhg.com/recipe/chocolate/ancho-chile-truffles/ some mexican recipes call for chocolate in mole or other sauces for meat dishes. and don't forget Hot Chocolate. i had the best hot chocolate ever in Warsaw. i've also "infused" chocolate into vodka. well i did more of a "suspension" in that i merely melted good chocolate into vodka in a bain marie. probably just needed to be strained after being refridgerated. http://1heckofaguy.com/2006/04/18/chocolodka/ i'm now seeing other methods that seem more like true infusions, where you let it sit w/ cocoa powder or cocao nibs. http://www.ehow.com/how_2246434_infuse-vodka-chocolate.html

of course you need a chocolate fountain. you can even go get some chocolate candy molds and let people mold there own chocolates. then you can go get different kinds of boxed chocolates and plate up, make brownies and here is a super easy fudge , take 1 bag of chocolate chips melt them add 1/2 stick melted butter and 1 can of vanilla frosting, mix well and chill 1 hour. it comes out perfect every time.
