Rooting Android phone: pros and cons.

What are some pros and cons of rooting my android phone. Can I download apps that are normally not compatible?

    You can download apps that require root, not apps that aren't compatible with your device. For example, if you're on Eclair, but an app needs Froyo, then rooting your phone/tablet will NOT allow you to use that app on Eclair (just an example). The pro's are using apps like droidwall in order to select which apps can access the internet and when, controlling apps that start with the device, using an app to hack sims 3 for infinite money and so on. Con's of rooting: you're more susceptible to Android malware WHICH IS COMMON, and rooting also and irrevocably breaks your warranty.
