How Long Does This Cactus Live?(And Care!)?

• For my birthday I got two little cactus's. One is a Mammillaris Cactus. The other is just a plain cactus (That's what the label says.) I need to know about how long they live. I looked it up but can't find it anywhere. Also, they are planted in tiny things and I was wondering how fast they grew so that I could decide an appropiate time to move them. Also, how much should I water them? My grandma said a teaspoon a month but that seems like WAY to little. So please help me! Any help will be apprieciated! Thx(;

  Cactus grow slow. They need to be watered when the soil gets dry. The pot needs to drain into a tray and the water needs to be poured out of the tray to keep them from sitting in water and this keeps them from getting root rot and storing up too much water. Storing up too much water will kill them. They need at least 5 hours of sun a day. Too much sun can sun burn them.
