What major should I pursue? Business Admin, Economics, or Accounting?

  • I'm going to SUNY Geneseo in new York should I major in business admin, accounting, or economics. I love math working with people and numbers and I want to travel :)

    It depends on your career goals. Bus Adm is overstuffed with students who can't make it in the tougher areas such as finance and accounting, and graduates don't get the best job offers. Accounting majors get the highest starting salaries and generally advance quickly. It can be an exciting profession and often involves travel, and always interaction with people. Economics is more mathematical and analytical. You should choose between economics and accounting, and make sure you are happy with the career to which your choice will take you. If you like the job you will be successful.

Economics is extremely math intensive. Aside from that it's very interesting stuff, especially starting off. Econ if you like the study of patterns, cultures, risks, and money Accounting seems really boring to me but if you're into working with numbers....
