What exactly is financial aid and how do you get it?

What area do I look at on my financial aid statment to see how much money i get back for my personal use?

  • What area do I look at to see how much money I will receive back after my school is paid off from my loans?

  • Answer:

you dont. basically heres the deal. IF you had a efc of 0..that means that you will get the full pell grant of $5500 for school. they will split that up into two semesters...so you will have $2750 to use each semester. ok. first you will have to pay for your classes. so minus the total cost of your classes from that 2750. then add up all your books, supplies, etc. the money that you dont use after your classes and books are paid for is the money you will get back. give or take around 800-1400 depending on the varying cost of your classes and books. so they dont really tell you, you just have to minus it from the amount per semsester.
