What's the difference between LED and CCFL?

What is difference between CCFL, Halogen, LED headlights? Also where do HID lights fit in to mix?

  CCFL is an acronym for cold-cathode fluorescent lamps, a variety of gas-discharge lamps similar to neon. Halogens are regular headlamp incandescent lights (post 1970 approx), 55 and 60W standard power. HIDs are High Intensity Discharge headlamp lams a.k.a. as xenons. They must be distinguished from the fake xenons which consist of blue-colored normal halogens. HIDs require specific wiring and ballasts to operate properly, 35W standard power rating. They provide up to four times the light output of standard halogens, typically of bright white to bluish color (expressed in K or kelvin).
