Do you have any good science project ideas for a 7th grader?

Help a 7th grader with a science project? EASY QUESTION! BEST ANSWER?

• So, I'm building a science machine (it's called a Rube Goldberg) for those who know what that is. Anyways, I'm in 7th grade, so it's very simple. (There's a marble run, the marble goes on it, and it has to knock down a cup of water into a bowl. I just can't figure out how such a small marble that is going down a ramp can knock down a plastic cup of water. I've tried pulleys and levers and more but I don't have a way to knock down the cup of water, which is the most important part of the task. This is urgent, and I've tried websites but most explanations are extremely scientific, just want something very simple that would simply teach me how to get a marble going down a ramp to knock over a cup of water. Thankss!!!!!!! Any links, or tips are very helpful! And also, it isn't shot out of a gun, just gently rolling down a ramp.

  Only put a little bit of water in the cup and then set is lower than the ramp so the marble hits it high on the rim. Have it right on the very edge of whatever it sits on and over it will go. Arrange it so the marble hits the inside rim on the far side and the marble and cup will probably fall together for more effect. Good luck.
