What are pros and cons of neonatal nursing?

Male Nursing? What are some pros and cons?

  • I am a male and i;ve heard nursing is a good job. Is it?

  • Answer:

First thing you need to learn about nursing is that there isn't "female nursing" and "male nursing". There are professional nurses. There is no need to distinguish your gender as part of your profession, just as you wouldn't be called a "male teacher" or a "male chef" or a "male firefighter" or "male police officer". Pros of being a nurse are that you will have life-long job security, you make good wages and benefits, most nurses don't have to work full-time since you get benefits at roughly half-time status at many places, you will have a job that is meaningful and often times very personally fulfilling for many people. Cons are that it can be stressful, physically demanding at times, and like any job in the world, there are always difficult people you must work alongside or care for as a nurse, there are policies and management conflicts, etc. Depending on your job, you might have to work some nights / weekends / holidays, especially as a newer nurse. Obviously the pros outweigh the cons for most people who choose this profession.

It depends on how you think a 'good' job is. I think a good job is not only the one which pays you well but the one which makes you happy and you are good at it as well. So if you think you are going to like it then it's good (for you). By the way my opinion is that it's a good job.
