How can i make my laptop so when i open the lid i don't need to type in my password?

  • my moms laptop is different then mine and every time she closes her lid and opens it, it leaves off where she closed it, without needing to type in a password. and the only time she needs to type a password is when she completely shuts off the computer and turns it on. is there a way i can make my laptop so every time i close it i DONT need to type in a code?

  • Answer:

Here's what you do: Go to Control Panel > User Accounts Then you can disable your password so it won't ask for it when you turn it on, or close and open it.

Just make it so you don't have a password at all. Go the change password screen and just leave the new password space blank. That way, when you open your computer it will come up with the password screen and you can just hit return. Your laptop will be more secure, and you don't have to deal with the hassle of typing your password in all the time.
