What happens if you forget to withdraw from a class?

  • The date to withdraw the class I didn't want, expired. Now i'm not allowed to withdraw. How will this affect me? All I know is it will affect my transcript. But, i'm also doing financial aid. Been meaning to manually withdraw as I spoke to my school and they said it was allowed. For some reason, forgot to go back and w/d. I know its OK to w/d from 1 class. However, since I didn't withdraw will I automatically get an "F" by the teacher or if you don't show up in class at all he'll withdraw you? Lets say, he gives me an "F" will this result in academic probation?

In most cases it will result in a F and if that F causes your GPA to lower to the point of academic probation, then it can cause you a lot of trouble in regards to financial aid. Next time withdraw from the class when you have the chance!

If you had withdrawn, you would have gotten a W or it wouldn't have been on your transcript at all. Since you're still in the class, you'll end up earning a F because you're not doing any of the work.

Yes, you'll fail the class, and have to pay back the money for the class. The teacher is not allowed to withdrawal you, they just have to report that you're absent and you'll get zeros for all your test and work that was due. That will make you fail the class.
