What would be a good way to get into Julliard?

Do you think I could get into Julliards?

  • I started playing piano ever since I was around 5 years old. I practice every day and my parents both got masters degrees in music and they plan to get me and interview with julliard when i turn 18. At age 11 I performed at carnegie Hall, NY. At age 12 I played fantasie impromptu by Chopin. I learned it in about 2 months. I am 13 now and I am learning to play Etude Op. 10 # 12. Do you think if I keep practicing the way I am now I could get into julliards?

    Juilliard has about a 6% acceptance rate and isn't a lock for anyone. It does sound like you have a chance, but there are so few spots and many musicians with similar and even stronger backgrounds will be looking to fill those spots too. Many great musicians who go on to great careers in music are often passed over due to so few spots. Keep working hard and also apply to other great schools. There are many first class music conservatories some arguably better than Juilliard like Eastman (ranked higher than Juilliard on many lists) or Curtis, Oberlin or the Manhattan School of Music.

Unfortunately you've accidentally posted this 'music' or 'higher education' question in the 'words and wordplay' category. This probably happened because you didn't actually SELECT the category after you composed your question. When you don't select the category, the Yahoo system automatically selects the category for you, and almost always selects the wrong one. That seems to be what happened here. Try again? And as already noted, it's "Julliard", not "Julliards". If you want to know if you qualify for their program, contact THEM, don't ask total strangers over the internet.
