Iphone 4s or Samsung Galaxy Nexus?
-
I hate my Verizon Fascinate (1st generation Samsung Galaxy S). It's gotten to the point where I have to pull the battery and hard-reset every day now (I have the gingerbread OS update--flashed it myself because the OTA update tried to kill my GPS). I'm strongly debating dishing out $300+ for an iphone 4s, but I can't really decide. I'm kind of jaded by the android experience, now. I thought I was "free" with android, but they're so full of bloatware and other software problems (from manufacturer inconsistency) that it's just kind of frustrating, now. I just want a clean, fast, glitch-free smartphone experience where I can browse the web (90% of what I do), get free GPS navigation, listen to music, and communicate (I go through a LOT of emails--gmail especially). And call people without my phone crashing and needing a hard-reset. But, I hear the Galaxy Nexus is pretty good.... maybe third try's the charm w/ android for me? Or should I go with iphone, which I hear only praise about?

Answer:
Well the Galaxy Nexus is good (Since it's a pure google experience, since it's a Google phone first and foremost). It's nice because it has a whole inch more of screen. The iPhone 4s is nice, but only if you want to be limited (there's lots less customization) Also, if you drop the Nexus, you might see a scuff or two on the back. If you drop an iPhone, you'll see the whole thing shatter.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is best Phone with excellent features.
Ah, but the Galaxy Nexus is relatively stable and quite fast. Works well. Luckily you can disable bloatware on Android 4.0. The one on Verizon only has 2 bloatware apps (but can be handy for account management like checking credit). You can disable it still. The UI on Android 4.0 is definitely a lot cleaner, polished and quite fast (you can download Chrome which is very good and can outdo most mobile browsers and actually works and might become the default Android browser soon). GPS is never free unless you get like a Windows Phone by Nokia and install Nokia Maps, but the GPS system on the GN still works (unlike the Galaxy S). Pretty much this phone works pretty well. The music player just looks plain awesome. The only complaints I'd have with it is the camera isn't that good compared to the Galaxy S II I have and the lack of Mass Storage mode and expandable storage is a turn off, but I don't think you'd complain since you'd even get an iPhone 4S which pretty much doesn't have those features either. The only reason to go with an iPhone, is if you want some good premium apps.
