Can I Download Movies onto my Blackberry Playbook?

• Hello users of Yahoo. I have got a blackberry playbook recently, but i am a bit fustrated, as I cannot download movies onto it. Is there any way of downloading movies onto it?

  Yes, we took about 20 DVD movies with us on a recent vacation and played them back on an HDTV via HDMI. It does take some preparation though. First, you don't say what the source of the movie is, but you have to get it into a format the PlayBook can handle. This includes MPEG 4 and AVI formats with various file extensions (See 1st link, or Google "Playbook video format"). I was using DVDs as the source and found that FreeMake Video Converter worked well (2nd Link). You just select the source (e.g. DVD) and the software reads the file. You can then specify output format (both video and audio). You probably want to keep the total file size to under 1500-2000 KB. It will take anywhere from 45-90 minutes to convert a typical DVD. Remember where the file is being saved. Once the file is converted you need to transfer it to the PlayBook. Use the USB cable (See 2nd link) and simply transfer to the video directory on the Playbook. BTW, I find "Files and Folders" is a great file management program for the Playbook (It isn't free but it's worth the price ($3 if I recall))
