What's wrong with my skin?

• I'm a mixed race women with a milk coffee skin color and I'm having problems with my face but I don't know what it is - the skin on some areas of my face (cheekbones and the forehead areas) were very itchy, red and weeping which has made scratching hard to resist; then days later when the itching has calmed down from washing myself with Aqueous cream and moisturizing with Hydrous Ointment my skin colour in the itchy areas has flaked and peeled off which has left lighter pinkish blotches on my face, these light pink blotches are still there even when I'm not scratching - they are more noticeable when I itch again; I've had these pink blotches for a month or so - I saw my nurse and pharmacist they said it's allergy or eczema but I presume it's something else because my skin is more moisturized than before, if it's not eczema/allergy what is it?

• Answer:

  Look at what lotions / creams you are using. Make sure they are all fragrance free. Avoid all perfum products. Try and avoid pets / fur. Dress mostly in cotton. Failing that go see a doc PS I wouldnt use aqueous cream, its known to thin the skin
