What are Other Ways to Improve Cardiovascular Endurance Other Than Jogging/Biking/Running (Outside activities)?

I've been exercising outside for not long up till now. It's gotten really hot in where i live, and i absolutely can't stand the heat. I have a really hard time doing things when it's hot out. I want to boost my cardiovascular endurance and loose a little weight all together. So is there any exercise you would recommend that i can do inside my house? And i'm not looking for high intensity exercises that will bulk me up, just want some endurance. Thanks.

Jump roping is great indoor cardio, its generally what I do when its -5 degrees out and I don't feel like hopping on my bike or treadmill. Big+ is jump ropes are like...4-5 dollars, cheap cardio!
