Do college grades matter when transferring to another college without any credits?

When you transfer to another college does that insitution only look at the grades from the transfer credits?

  • I was wondering if a university or college only looks at the transfer credit from your current college to see how well you will do other courses that are comparable to the transfer university. Furthermore, I have some courses that are electives that will not transfer over. I got a D in one course, which is not transferable regardless of the grade in the course. Will the transfer college put more weight on the transfer credit grades that relate to courses in the transfer college, or my whole GPA?

  • Answer:

Eag, I am sorry, but I do not know the answer to your question. However, I work for a college, and one thing I do know is that colleges and universities are different. Something may be true for one institution but not the other. Therefore, I highly recommend you call the institution you are thinking of transferring to and see what their particular policy is. Good luck!
