How important is being in an Honors Program as an undergrad?

Should I drop out of the honors program? Can you do that?

• I'm in the honors program at my college and I wanted to drop out of it. Can you drop out? It's not that the classes are hard, it's just I don't want to take classes for that program and I don't really have time to be wasting on those useless classes. I'm already taking classes to get into teaching program, for dental school, and other extra classes for other programs. Will honors program do any good for me if I'm trying to get into dental school? Should I drop out?

  You do not have to stay in the honors program if it does not fit your needs. If the honors program asks why you are dropping it, you can tell them that you changed your course of study, transferring to another school will automatically drop you from honors program. (not a good reason to transfer though, unless you moved and your new school is closer and costs less which is what I am doing) if you really want to drop out of a program my best bet is to change your e-mail and not give the school your new e-mail I am doing something similar with a different program cuz they don't want me to transfer. So I changed my e-mail adress and now they can't contact me. But I am transferring regardless...
