What is it like being a machinist as a career?

What school would be the best school to become a machinist?

  • I live in Georgia but I don't care where the school is. Also I heard the machinist career average age is 45 or something close to that would this be a good career to get into. Also what kind of machinist would be the best for money and job opportunity?

  • Answer:

I general you should avoid any for-profit schools. They tend to be overpriced and many are outright scams. You should visit a public community college to talk to an adviser in their vocational division about your goals. This is a vocational certificate rather than a true college degree, but some community colleges misleadingly refer to their vocational programs as associates "degrees". A public community college should have a program that will cost you less and yet be far more respected than any for-profit school. Visit a public community college to sit down and talk to an adviser about your options.
