  • I'm a senior and I applied to Stanford but got rejected. Any chance that i might get in as a transfer student? Also, how may i prepare to get into stanford while in a state university? (san francisco state university) and is it possible to transfer after only one year at sf state? 4.5 weighted gpa (class rank 15 out of 458) sat 1620 Took 6 APs, but only passed one, plan to retake this year in May: AP biology-3 Currently taking AP US Govt and Politics, AP Stats, AP English Literature, plan to retake AP English Language exam, Took APUSH martial arts--3 years, blue belt Volunteered at red cross club--1 year volunteered at buildOn club--1 year cross country-varsity, 1 year, all city boys team 2nd place peer leader--1 year

    Honestly? No. Sorry. Though your EC's are applaudable, your SAT is way too low for Stanford. The fact that you only passed one AP also worries me and significantly lowers your chances.

Transfer admissions to Stanford are even more competitive than freshman admissions. Stanford will take your high school record into account even as a transfer student, and yours is nowhere near Stanford quality. If you are truly unhappy at SFSU you can transfer out after a year or two, but there's basically no chance you'll be admitted to Stanford or another top school as a transfer, even if you have a 4.0 and great extracurriculars, recommendations, etc.
