What is a good major for me?

What's a good subject to major in? Good career opportunities?

  • Ok, so I really wanna major in music, but I know that's gonna be difficult when it comes to finding a job. What's a good subject to major in that will result in a fairly good amount of job opportunities after I graduate? I'm a sophomore in high school I have a GPA of around 3.97 and a 29 on my ACT. Not so awesome at chemistry though so I don't think a medical degree would work out to well :P thankyou!

  • Answer:

The highest paying majors (non-medical) with the best employment prospects are engineering, computer science, math, physics, economics, and accounting. You can always double major in music or do it for fun on the side.

so if your not good at chemistry try to avoid anything in the medical field you can pretty much do anything, that's a good g.p.a. and ACT score if your talented in music i would do it informatics/computers are rising in demand like. majors: software engineer $90,170 ave. salary computer programmering > software publisher $85,510 IT - general so anything in computer science is a promising career health professions are indemand but you're not good at chemistry dentist, orthodontist, optometrists, veterinarians make good money the world needs more engineers, you have to be good in science/physics and math you should try typing things into a search engine like 'high paying careers that are in demand' or "jobs growing indemand" you can look at majors and careers here https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/ It's IMPORTENT to plan your future

Somewhere I read recently that biomedical engineering is going to be in great demand. Math/trigonometry/calculus, physics, and enough chemistry to support you in biology. You will never regret knowing basic bookkeeping. As the Baby Boomers turn grey, anything relating to care of older people is going to be important. Whether it's managing elder-care facilities, starting a business to provide various services or materials, doing social work with older people . . . .

If you are good at math you should do engineering or computer science. Accounting is good. You just have to look at the major and say what marketable skill will I learn from doing this.
